If you are experiencing random freezing and crashing while trying to play either School Days or Shiny Days, this may be caused by a few different issues. First, try the following most common problems & solutions:

  • The game data is corrupt. Please reinstall the data.
  • Your graphics driver needs to be updated.
  • Crashing also happens in other programs? Please check the your RAM as it might be bad.

If you've ruled out all of the above possible issues, then there might be a CPU stability issue. But, there is a workaround for this problem:

  1. Open your Windows Task Manager program.
  2. Find SCHOOLDAYS or SHINYDAYS in the list of processes and right-click "go to details".
  3. From this new list, right-click SCHOOLDAYS.exe or SHINYDAYS.exe and go to "set priority" and change it to Above Normal; and then go to "affinity" and uncheck all the CPUs except for one (CPU 0 or CPU 1).

The above workaround forces a single CPU thread to focus on the game, which helps bring stability for certain CPUs. You will have to apply these settings each time you wish to play the game.
